PlaySmart’s new look hits the streets

Surfacing specialist PlaySmart have followed up the launch of their new website by giving their vehicle fleet an eye-catching makeover.

The new livery is a full body wrap which reflects the look of the new website and showcases PlaySmart’s full range of safety surfaces – FireSmart and EcoSmart safety matting, RubbaSmart wet pour, TigerMulch bonded rubber mulch and ActiveSmart artificial surfacing systems featuring artificial grass and needlepunch carpet.

After taking delivery of the first refurbished vehicle, Director Spencer Curtis said: “The old white design had served us well but we wanted to bring things bang up to date and let our customers see all the things we can now do for them. We now just need to make sure our guys look after them!”.

Surfacing specialist PlaySmart have launched a new website to showcase their growing range of products and added a new free phone number for enquiries 0808 231 6379.

Having built their reputation on supplying and installing FireSmart fire retardant playground safety matting, PlaySmart now supply and install a full range of safety surfaces – from FireSmart and EcoSmart safety matting to RubbaSmart wet pour and TigerMulch bonded rubber mulch and ActiveSmart artificial surfacing systems featuring artificial grass and needlepunch carpet.

Commenting on the launch of the new website, Director Anthony Johnston said: “We have gone from strength to strength in recent years but it’s always good to refresh the look and feel of how we promote our products and we hope our customers enjoy using the new site”.

PlaySmart extend sales coverage

As part of an ongoing expansion of PlaySmart UK have created their second new field sales position inside six months by appointing Richard Onslow-Carey as Business Development Manager to cover the South West and South Wales.

Richard joins from Huck UK and will be based in Somerset. This appointment follows the recruitment of Doncaster-based Carolyn Harrison from Sutcliffe Play in May to cover the North of England.

Director Spencer Curtis, who is responsible for sales activity for PlaySmart said “with the range of products that we now offer, it’s important that we have the capacity to give good customer coverage and a local presence for our clients across the UK and the addition of experienced people like Richard and Carolyn will certainly help to do that”.

ActiveSmart range extended (again!)

Since being launched as a single product offering in 2009, PlaySmart have continued to expand the range of options offered within their ActiveSmart artificial surfacing system.

In addition to offering a number of artificial grasses and 13 colours of needlepunch carpet as surfaces in combination with a number of different substrates materials, PlaySmart have now added other systems specifically designed for use in landscaped areas.

We can now offer artificial grass solutions installed over landscaped mounds with different degrees of cushioning according to customer requirements. The clean and neat finish looks like proving a popular alternative to traditional landscaping solutions for mounds and embankments.

Playfair 2011 a great success

PlaySmart UK took their largest ever stand at a trade show at this year’s Playfair show which was held at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

In addition to showcasing all of their surfacing products, Playfair saw the launch of the first product in PlaySmart’s new GymSmart range of outdoor fitness equipment, the Helios multistation outdoor gym.

The general consensus amongst exhibitors at the show was that, although visitor numbers were down, visitor quality was up with those in attendance looking to buy. However, it was, without doubt, Playfair’s most successful trade show ever.

Commenting on the show, Director Anthony Johnston said “We put a lot of focus on Playfair this year and the response from customers old and new has been fantastic with many complimenting us on having the largest range of safety surfacing on show at this year’s event. We’ll certainly be back.”
