PlaySmart are often asked by clients how you can prevent grass and soil from eroding on mounds in parks and play areas.
If you want to keep the natural look of grass, rather than installing a more permanent solution like JungleMulch to your banks and sloping areas, a great solution is to use grass mats.
FireSmart, PlaySmart’s original fire retardant grass mat and EcoSmart our grass mat can be installed neatly by our experienced team to retain the shape of the area whilst offering protection from slips, falls and unsightly wear.
This makes grass matting the ideal playground surfacing solution for items such as embankment slides, with or without stepped access.
Climbing structures built around slopes and mounds in the grass can be protected in the same way, giving them better longevity and avoiding unsightly muddy areas developing in the turf.
Once given a chance to establish, the grass can grow back through the mats giving a natural looking surface to the mats.
